The Raising of the Steeple!

Mona in the last few years has doubled in size. This has caused an overload on the small chapel that is in Mona. The ward Todd and I go to at the moment is in Nephi. they didn't have room for us in the small ward house. They have been approved for the new building for over a year now, but didn't get started until just a couple of months ago. It is scheduled to be done in March, but at this moment is at least a month ahead of schedule. We are all so excited to get a new building. It has been fun, to watch the progress of it being built. They announced on Sunday that they would be raising the steeple and we could all come and watch. Are kids were excited, and we tried to watch, but when we got there the crane had blown a tire and they were having to call in a new one. When it finally happened we, to are kids disappointment were taking care of other commitments, but lucky for us the bishops wife got to see it and took a lot of pictures, and we got to view them all on our TV. Here are some of the pictures. The steeple waiting for the crane.

Starting to be lifted
Almost straight up
Flying throught the air towards the building
Being lowered.
Set, and now being bolted down
The guy installing the lighting rod.
The finished product.

Mini Horses

My backyard neighbors are the Bishop of our ward and his Wife Tammy. Tammy loves horses, which has been nice for our kids, they can go over pretty much whenever they want. A couple of weeks ago Tammy was given two miniture horses by an older lady who just couldn't take care of them anymore. Tammy was so excited and of course our kids thought they were the coolest thing ever. Well, the lady decided that she really couldn't live without her babies, so with much disappointment to everyone, Tammy had to give them back. It was fun while they were here.

"The Wheels On The Bus Go Round And Round"

Well, it's that time of year again for us. A few on the kids cousins have already started, but for us today is the day. The kids were so excited, especially Kelten, it being his first year. I think this is the only day of the year I don't have a fight from anyone about getting ready and their work done. I'm not sure I'm ready for the school year to start yet, the summer could have lasted a little longer, Oh Well! Here are a couple of pictures of the kids dressed and ready for the day.

Vacation Time

The first week of Todd's vacation time was spent relaxing, going to the County Fair and Demolition Derby. This last week we went camping at Camperworld and then finished the week with attending the sealing of Todd's cousin Josh to his wife and two kids. It was a great way to end a great week, plus we got to spend a couple of days with Grandpa and Grandma Jim. Camperworld is right next to the Nebo Loop senic Byway, which we took advantage of. We did some hiking and took in the beautiful scenery. We also did a lot of swimming and despite my best efforts there was still plenty of sunburning. On Wed. Uncle Peter came and spent the day with us along with his friend Lorrianne. We went to Yuba Lake and did some boating, playing in the sand, and of course chasing the seagulls. We did some Barbecuing and roasting marshmallows, and enjoying the fresh air as well. It was a good two weeks and we are sad to see it end. Vacations are never long enough. One of the views you can see, up towards the top of Nebo Loop. This was an old tree that had fallen over and the kids thought it was so cool and huge.
Knightin really doesn't enjoy the boat yet. The first time we went he wouldn't let go of Todd or I. We now have progressed to at least just sitting by us. The boat works magically well like a moving car to lull a child to sleep. So as Todd drove around Knightin slept. It was nice.
Starting to relax.Trying to stay awake, but losing the battle......And he's gone.
I was sent an e-mail with a picture like these, and right away new we had to give it a try. This is is so my boys.
"Can anyone help me, I've seemed to have lost my head!!Don't you just love it.Ahhh, there is nothing like chasing birds when you're a child.
They spent probably about 20 minute with these seagulls.
To be a kid again, well actually I don't want to be a kid again, but I would love to be able to forget my grownup responsibilities a little more often and enjoy the simple things of life.Uncle Peter brought his guitar, and we had some great fun listening to him play.
Every year Todd and I do our own school pictures(or yearly pictures). We don't like the one that are taken at school and don't like the prices the come with have them professionally done. So while we were at Camperworld we took advantage of the landscaping and got our kids pictures done. Plus I love taking pictures of my kids.

We always have to get the crazy shots, then it's all worth it to the kids.
I had too many of want I think are fun pictures to share, to put all of them one by one. So I made some more slide shows. The first one is more picture from our week of camping and having fun. The second one is more shots from when we were taking the yearly pictures.

If you want to see the slide show bigger, click on the Picasa icon, then click on the album. This will take you to Picasa's web page and you can play the slide show there full screen.

It's "Derby Time"

Even though we didn't get to go to CA, Todd decided to still take his 2 weeks off, so that we could spend some quality time with our kids. This week we just relaxed, did puzzles, watched movie, and most importantly we didn't do work projects, (the fact that we had rain, most of the week, helped with the decision to do indoor stuff). Friday we went to the Juab County Fair. It was a little weird for me, because in N. California where I grew up the county fair was a big production. It had all your animal stuff, plus the amusement rides, games and all the other crazy things that go along with an amusement park. Here the fair is just the animal stuff and a few competitions, and the rodeos. They also have a ATV rodeo, and have course the highlight of Juab county their Demolition Derby. It is a pretty big thing here and so Todd and I decided to take our kids and join in with the locals. Our kids absolutely loved it. I myself thought it was pretty hilarious, Knightin well he was scared, but still couldn't take his eyes off of the cars crashing each other up and TJ thought it was great and was clapping her hands and bouncing up and down. During the breaks between heats they through stuff up into the crowds. We got lucky and walked away with a Frisbee, a football, and several pieces of candy. As soon as the Derby was over the kids all asked if we could do it again next year. I guess we have created a new family tradition.

Kelten, Mr. Four-eyes

Well, with 2 parents as blind as us, we were surprised our first two kids had great eyesight. Kelten got stuck with the bad eye genes, however, but he isn't upset about that at all. He loves that he has glasses just like Daddy, and he calls us the "Glasses Boys". He had an eye appointment yesterday and the glasses came in today.

Stephny's Photo Shoot

My niece Stephny wanted to do something fun for her boyfriends birthday. He doesn't get to see her as often as he would like, since they are still in highschool. He'll be gone on his birthday, so Stephny thought it would be fun to give him his own album with pics of her. Though I'm not sure that there are many guys who would not love this gift. It was a lot of fun doing her photo shoot. I would love to get a better camera and have some real fun with taking pictures, but the camera I have will have to do for now. It also helps when you have a good subject to work with.
