New wedding ring
I wish I could say that Todd is just designing me a new wedding ring, just because he has always wanted to, but no I can't say that. Yes he has always wanted to design me a ring, but I lost mine over a year ago as well. We started designing it last summer, (mostly Todd) and figured it would be a long time before the dream became a reality, but thanks to a great tax refund and the felling of being selfish and not spending it all on bills, we moved forward on it. This picture is the 2nd 3-D drawing and we have tried on wax ring, and had to make some changes, and Todd just yesterday approved the 3rd drawing, so the next step will be one more wax ring and if all is perfect the will make the ring. We are hoping for mid-April, for it to be complete. I am so excited, the ring is so beautiful, at least to me, and it has so much of what both of us like and want, plus if you notice it has a lighting bolt, which is something Todd always works into his art somewhere, so we thought it was pretty fitting to add one to a ring he designed. I'm excited to show you all the finished product. There is so much more that you can't see in the picture!

Science Fair Projects
This year Taylar decided to do hers on what cleaner would work the best to clean a penny and bring it back to its original shine. She had 8 different cleaners and for the quickest difference lemon juice worked, but in overall clean and shine CLR cleaner won. So if you ever want to shine up your Pennies there you have it.
Ki decided to stress me out by choosing to do one this year. 3rd graders don't have to do one, but I guess they can if they want to, so now my 15 projects just turned into 16 at least. Maybe I can convince the other 3 that doing their 3 projects is plenty. Anyway Ki wanted to do something with sound, so we found a simpler project where he could find out which sound would cause the most movement in a pile of rice. He use the sound from his voice, a popper, a drum a pot and a vortex cannon. The pot cause a lot of the rice to move, but the vortex cannon won overall.
Now we are done for another year!!!!More awards for Scouting!
Ki was able to earn his Bear Rank, after just being in Bears for 2.5 months. I am so proud of him for the dedication that he is having towards scouting. This is making his Daddy very happy that he loves it so far. Along with his Bear he also got a patch for going to the "Rock and Mineral Show" and he is working on his 100 year patch. This is an award that can only be earned this year for the 100 year celebration. There are 5 ribbon that can be earned and each one you have to do I think at least 5 things. He has earned two ribbons so far and has almost earned a third. Way to go Ki!!

Rock and Mineral Show
Our Kids love rocks, they like to collect new ones whenever they can. We even at one point had a rock polisher, but it didn't last long because it was an inexpensive one. So when we found out Spanish Fork does a "Rock and Mineral Show" we had to go check it out. The kids had a lot of fun and I think we ended up spending between 2 1/2 - 3 hours there, pretty long time for looking at rocks. They had some amazingly beautiful rocks there. I can't believe things so beautiful come out of the ground. Each of the kids bought a grab bag for a buck, then were told where the different rocks in their bags come from in UT. They then took one of their rocks and got it polished for free. They also got to make and paint their own fossils. They turned out great. I think my 3 oldest and Todd could have stayed a lot longer, but Knightin and TJ had, had it.
The Cast is On!
So, last Tues. Knightin was able to get his hard cast on. The swelling was very little so I did not have to wait a whole week to get it done, thank goodness! The first couple of days were still a little hard because he couldn't get up on anything himself, chairs, toilets, etc... but he is amazing and can do everything himself now. He doesn't go outside as much as he did with the older kids, the cement and gravel hurt his knees. We were very happy that his preschool teachers let him come to school, with the fact that he will have to crawl around for 2 weeks, 1 of which are done now. They are very willing to do all that is needed. They took in one of there kids that was in a body cast a couple of years ago, so a broken leg was nothing. He has been so much happier being able to go to school. They don't make crutches that small, you can special order them, but they of course are more expensive and take 7-10 days to get here. He only had to stay off of it for 2 weeks, so that was not an option. Todd decided to put together our own crutches, they turned out good, but Knightin couldn't get the balance thing down, we tried for several days, then gave up. Him looked really cute with them though. The picture I took had to be quick, he fell shortly after. I love his sad face picture, he was not at all happy that first day. Except for bathing and carrying him to and from the bus, things are pretty much like normal. Next week he can walk on it, that is if we can talk him into it, he is pretty scared, because of how bad it hurt when it first happened. At the 3 week mark we get to have it x-rayed and if it is healed enough it will come off, we are hoping for speeding healing!Saturday, March 20, 2010
My baby boy is Broken!
Today Ki, Kelten and Knightin were playing outside building forts. They thought it would be cool to use the old monkey bars from our Rainbow playground swing set. They propped it up, but I guess it didn't want to stay up and came crashing down on Knightin's leg. It was a couple of hours before we took him in, because we weren't sure it was broken. No real swelling and no bruising. But he wouldn't put any weight on it, so I took him in and sure enough he had broken his leg. So much for the normal signs. He is being a trooper, but will be in a splint for a week and then they will cast him. If they don't put him in a walking cast he will have to use crutches if he doesn't want to crawl everywhere for several weeks. Poor guy! Little people are kind of cute though in cast and splints, because they are so small.
Can you find the breaks?

This one shows the break on the back and then the shadowy line in the circle is the hairline fracture.

Hula Hoop Queen
We found out about a month ago that Taylar is quite the Hula Hooper at school. We hadn't been able to see her do it because we don't have any hula hoops here at home, so when we were on our date Tue. we picked some up. It was pretty cool to watch her, I certainly couldn't ever do anything like that when I was in Elem. school. She said she has had as many as 12 on her at once. We can't wait to see her outside where she has more room to do her tricks!

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star!
TJ sings Twinkle Little Star so cute, and sings most of it on her own, but of course she wouldn't as soon as we started recording. We did get a little bit though, and you get to see her dirty face and hear Taylar laugh in the background as well!
Who needs TV?
We got our tax refund about a month ago, and decided that top on our list of things to get was a new washer and dryer. The old ones worked OK, but we needed storage area and I think we have used up all the other spaces in our House already. Todd and I are becoming pretty creative at finding ways to store in small spaces. So yesterday our new washer and Dryer were delivered and installed. I have to admit that I like to get new things, even if they don't happen all that often, well at least not big items. Besides our vacuum and our deep freeze this is our only other big purchase of new items ( well we got a frost-free freezer yesterday as well) Everything else we own is hand-me-downs or used (like our vehicles) Which I'm not complaining at all, they have done us well and I wouldn't trade the fact that I haven't had to go out and purchase new stuff, for anything. We have been very blessed in our lives, but it is still fun to get new things.
So here you have our new toys, and some fun pictures of Knightin and TJ also enjoying our new toys. Who knew that watching clothes wash could be such fun entertainment.

Our new freezer. We used our deep freeze way to often, causing our food to get freezer burnt before its time. To much food lost!
The next pictures are of the start of the shelves Todd is putting in for me. They are across from the W&D. Our freezer used to be there, and he will also build some deep shelving to the side and above the W&D. Tracks were installed on the ceiling and I will be hanging curtains to hide the shelving. I love organization space!

My Babies learning to SEW!!
Taylar has been asking me if she could learn to sew for some time now. Like everything that she has wanted me to teach, I end up putting it off, and putting it off. Not on purpose, but life just keeps happening. So Todd and I picked up some material and what we thought would bee a simple enough first project and brought it home for Taylar. She was so very excited, and even was pretty patient with me when I told her we could probably only work on it over the weekends. It only took her a couple of afternoon and she did so amazingly well. I don't think I did that well, on my first sewing project. She loves her new apron and we have told her she can make one for TJ, Todd and I, she can't wait.
She did all but a few little things, that I should her first, then she would take over. She cut it out, ironed and pressed, threaded the machine, even got to un-stitch a few things. I'm so proud of her and am excited to watch her create more things. We are borrowing a sewing machine right now, she had decided this summer for her birthday she wants to buy her own machine. Another thing, I'm proud of her with, when other kids her age are wanting cell phones, Ipods, and DS's my baby wants a sewing machine, Wahoo!

Todd picked out all the material. I thought he did an awesome job. It turned out very cute!
