This week started off with going out Monday morning and taking Senior pictures of my Niece and Nephew. It was a fun morning, my nephew is a hoot and had us laughing a ton. I love taking pictures of KC, she is so photogenic and I think totally beautiful.
I love this picture!
I love the face I caught of Bry!
I love when cousins can live near, and they are your kids best friends. Bry and KC have stuck together for many years.
When I walked through the door from getting home from taking pictures, I was welcomed with "Auntie Tay broke her foot" This was coming from Austin and I wasn't sure I believed him, then Tay came hobbling up on a makeshift stick crutch and said then same thing. Still not sure I believed it yet, they could be trying to pull a joke over on me. I started question them. I soon realized that it was at least hurt pretty bad and made her sit on the couch so I could look at it. It was swollen pretty good for Tay's tiny foot and a little bruised around the toes. She couldn't put any pressure on it or move her toes, but her ankle and leg seemed OK, so that was good. I decided that I should take her in and I was happy that it was during office hours at least I would get out of paying an ER bill on top of everything this time. So we headed up to the doctors to find out what was up. They were able to get us in only after about 20 minutes, not two bad for just showing up without an appointment. They had us do x-rays straight away and then come back to see them. The Doc came in and questioned Tay about the foot how it happened and all that other fun stuff and said, "well it seems like you did a number on your foot. You have at least 2 broken bone, but I think you have at least 2 more" Then showed us the x-ray. They were all still in line so that was good and they should heal up nicely. They got a boot for her and some crutches and said for us to come back on Thursday to check out the swelling and he would have the Radiology report back by then. On Thursday we found out that all 4 that he thought were broken were broken and one more. She actually has a break on all 5 tarsals. She definitely does it good. You might still be asking how she did it. It is kind of a fun story for her to tell. If you are going to break something, doesn't every kid and probably every person want to be able to tell a good story of how it happened. It's not as fun to say I tripped or fell out of bed. I think Tay has a pretty good one. Most of you know that she has 3 other cousins that are just within a few months age of her. They are all best friends and happen to be all boys, so they love her, tease her and definitely protect her. They also happen, as my sister puts it, think of her as their personal doll to play with and try things out on. They are big and she is pretty tiny for her age. I swear I think the twins have about a foot over her now. Any way, we have one of those big play parachutes, and they decided to make a human slingshot and Tay was what they were shooting out of it. She was having a blast until she landed wrong on her foot. She was a trooper and didn't cry a single tear, but I guess she pass out for a short time and was very white. Again, like I swear every time my kids get hurt, I was out. I promise I am a good mom, and I am hardly ever gone, just bad luck I guess.
I don't know if anyone can find them. I tried to save it so that I could put some arrows on them, but it wouldn't let me. If I can figure it out in the future, I will put an updated picture up.
Her makeshift crutch!
Tay's little fat foot
Just after getting her Boot. This one was too big, but it is what they had, we now have one that fits her right!
Getting use to her crutches!
Tues. was filled with editting, then late Tues. night through Wednesday morning, Mona got some excitement with some breaking news. KSL news had the story.
Man arrested after 14-hour manhunt
MONA, Juab County — The search for a man suspected of being involved in a burglary of a Nephi police officer's home ended Wednesday, 14 hours after the manhunt began.
Police got a call Wednesday morning that the person they were searching for was on the run. Officers swarmed a neighborhood and within minutes, arrested Colby Bronson, 25.
“There were a lot of police units here,” Juab County Sheriff Alden Orme said. “And I think it was good to have that many, or I think he might have got away again, but we had enough to contain him.”
Bronson gave up with just one request: He wanted something to drink.
The officer arrived home Tuesday night and found a man burglarizing her home. The burglar fled from the scene in a truck into the mountains of Mona. A chase ensued, during which items reportedly fell out of the back of the man's truck, including a stolen motorcycle from Nephi.
During the chase, the man's truck became high centered and the man fled on foot. The Juab County sheriff said the man was believed to be armed and dangerous after authorities found a box of rifle ammunition in his truck.
By early morning, police had just about given up when a couple in Mona awoke to a suspicious sound.
“We heard this screeching outside our bedroom window," Mona resident Audrey Bandley said. "And we looked out and there was an ATV. Some guy had just stopped all of a sudden and he took off running.”
Police said Bronson had stolen the ATV several blocks away and officers were back on his trail. When officers closed in on him, he tried running again but could not evade a Millard County K-9.
Bronson gave up with just one request. He wanted something to drink.
“That’s all he could ask for,” Orme said. “He was pretty dehydrated from running through the night and the day, and so that is what he wanted, so we gave him a bottle of water to help him out there.”
There's always some excitement when a thief, possibly armed is on the loose in your backyard (not literally, but Mona isn't that big). He gets to go back to prison now, I hope he enjoyed his little crime spree!
The good part of the day was spent making sure all was in order for school to start the next day, and for, getting stuff organized and put together towards my part in prepping for our big day of racing pinewood derby cars. I think I'm as ready as we can be until the weekish before. We just needed to get it up and advertized.
Thursday was the "big day", back to school for the kids. Tay's first day of Jr. High and Knightin's first day of Kindergarten. He was so excited all morning. He ran all the way there, not that, that is a very far distance, but fun to watch all the same. TJ walking with me to get him to school, didn't have the same excitement, she was a little sad and couldn't understand why she didn't get to go as well. Still 2 more years, poor thing!
My school cuties!!!
In front of his class!
This is his table, he doesn't look to happy here, but I promise you he was!!
The next 2 days were fun, and I had planned to take my camera, but forgot, oh well. I guess I can't be perfect everyday! :)
Friday of course was school, and during school I did some baking and cooking to get ready for a neighbor BBQ. We went over to the Bandelys, it was fun, we had good food, good company, and the kids had plenty of fun and laughter. We didn't have a huge turn out, but not to bad since it was our first attempt and summer time craziness of life.
Saturday, a young man in our ward was working on his Eagle Scout project, and decided to do a "Kiddy Day Camp" to raise the funds he needed. We took and dropped off our kids for the first couple of hours and went on a little date, then we went back and did some volunteer hours to help out. They had block wars, movie theater, t-shirt painting, painting, making pizzas, story time, and any other kind of playing kids can come up with. My kids had a blast, and I think they all decided they wanted to live with the Brooksbys now. I guess we just aren't as fun. Even after we took home the 3 youngest. Tay and Ki stayed to hang out. We came home to work on boring projects, what kind of parents are we! When we went to go pick Tay and Ki up. Craig asked me if Todd was home and if I thought he could look at their oldest daughters ankle. She came down on it wrong while dancing around and was in a lot of pain. I told him he could but as with any nurse, they aren't allowed to diagnose, but he does have to look at possible breaks and sprains all the time at work. So he is very familar with the common signs and what to look for. Todd loves looking at things like this, but gets nervous trying to figure out things sometimes. He has been right at his guesses, if that is what you want to call them, on all the ones he has had to look at, at the jail, but with our two kids he was wrong on both. So he always hopes that people realized he is so not a doctor, and gets things wrong. All the signs of her ankle leaned towards a very good sprain, but he told them Monday when they get it checked out they had to let him know if it ended up being broken. He might give up trying to figure injuries out all together outside of the jail if it ends up being broken, poor guy. He is a great nurse, though just not a doctor and certainly not a human x-ray machine. I did tell Todd though that the doctor for Knightin, didn't think it was broken either, but did and x-ray for precautions, good thing too. So I guess anyone can get it wrong, before the pictures come in.
So the moral of this last story is, the McAllister's have bad luck when it comes to breaking things and going to the ER, but now I have come to realize that we might be bad luck to have around too! You might only want to have us around if your insurance is good or we get out of this streak we are in.
So there you have it, out eventful week in a nut shell!!!
Knightin trying out green permanent eyeshadow. I told him it wasn't his color!
Tay and her poodle fur, neck wrap. For our high anxiety dog, this was very impressive for her to sit long enough for this picture.
Last but not least, yet another picture of my cutie!
